Since 2019, Visa Fashion Week Almaty has been growing as a creative business platform to showcase domestic talent for foreign buyers and media as well as to connect local market with international trends and trendsetters. The 2023 edition had a theme fitting the zeitgeist: Metamorphosis. Studio Oneki was responsible for concept creation, naming, graphic design & 3D rendering the space.
In February 2021 H&M has released a limited edition of streetwear designed together with 4 creatives from the CIS countries. The word “Bravery” was assigned to Kazakhstan. Aya Shalkar used the kazakh translation of the word along with the signature motif continues the Törtköz cycle of Studio Oneki. The limited-edition pieces have gained major popularity among young people and there have been reports of resale online.
OYU is a musical YouTube project based on acoustic performances by Kazakhstani & other Central Asian artists. OYU has expanded into not only a live-show, but a country-wide music festival, known as OYU Fest. Studio Oneki is the proud creator of the project’s brand identity, including naming, logo and visuals for the entire first season of OYU.
Gakku TV is the first music channel in Kazakhstan that only airs content produced in Kazakhstan. It aims to expand Kazakh music and culture and boost patriotism. The channel airs on cable and satellite television all over the country. In 2023, GAKKU’s first rebranding was made by Studio Oneki, leading to a new chapter in the channel’s life.
